01
Neugierig
Erste Tests, Initiativen einzelner Mitarbeitender, keine Strategie dahinter.
→ Sensibilisierung, erste Use-Case-Ideen sammeln.
02
Erprobend
→ Pilotstruktur aufsetzen, Erfolgskriterien vorab festlegen.
03
Geordnet

The PentaVision AI Maturity Model combines proven maturity approaches with the needs of mid-sized companies. It shows in five stages where you stand today and what the next sensible step is.
It is part of “Understand and Analyze,” the first phase of the PentaVision Approach: an honest assessment of where you stand before you invest.
The Five Maturity Phases
01
Curious
First tests, initiatives by individual employees, no strategy behind them.
What is even possible with AI for us?
→ Raise awareness, gather initial use-case ideas.
02
Experimental
Individual pilots with a clearly defined use case, success is measured for the first time.
Does it really work in practice?
→ Set up pilot structure, define success criteria upfront.
03
Structured
Repeatable processes, first standards and responsibilities are defined.
How do we scale this systematically?
→ Build governance and data strategy.
04
Connected
AI is embedded in relevant core processes; where production is involved, IT and OT are meaningfully integrated.
How do we ensure operations, quality and compliance in the long term?
→ Secure the IT/OT integration; depending on industry and application, align validation and governance with e.g. ISO/IEC 42001 or – in regulated pharma environments – GAMP 5 principles.
05
Transforming
AI shapes the business model and culture, continuous improvement is a given.
How do we maintain leadership and stay compliant with regulations?
→ Integrate AI governance and regulatory requirements permanently into processes and responsibilities.
The goal is not automatically the highest stage, but rather the maturity level that makes economic and organizational sense for the company.

The maturity model is not a competition – every phase is a legitimate starting point for the next feasible step. The highest maturity level is not automatically the goal.
